350 remington mag loads
« on: October 20, 2005, 02:58:10 PM »
I am looking for some reloading data on the 350 remington mag. with 250 grain bullets and varget powder. This powder seems like it would be all right with this round but none of my manuals have any data with it. Any data or thoughts?

Thanks

Varget should work, from around 48 to 52 grains, but I would like something a little faster, like IMR-4320...

Because the .350 Mag and the .35 Whelen are very similar in capacity ( the .350 holds slightly more powder), you can extrapolate Varget loads from the Whelen data.  Hodgdon shows that in the .35, Varget gives near-top velocities, second only to the slower BL-C(2).  Start at least 10% below the maximum Hodgdon Whelen data and you should be fine.
