a few weeks ago, I took a 335 lb wild pig with speer's 300 gr psp. It was getting dark, so I wanted the hog to die before it went in thick brush. I fired 3 shots, 2 exited. The one that didn't broke both shoulders and was lodged under the hide. This bullet weighs 198 gr. Next year we may be going back. I was shooting a ruger super blackhawk 7.5" 44 mag. I loaded this bullet with a stiff dose of h-110. I want to try lbt hard cast next time, probably in my 45 blackhawk. good eating, by the way, as this was a sow for my freezer. I'll maybe take a boar for the wall next time.

nixter,                                                                                                  this was on a preserve in Michigan's UP. It is about 30 minutes from Iron Mountain. I went with 3 bowhunters and 1 had penetration problems on the armor plate. His arrow only went in about 4" or so. We looked for that one for 2 hours. That's why I was in a rush to anchor this one at dark. I'm a bit envious of our Southern brothers with their truly wild hogs. Even though this was on a preserve, I did learn that hog hunting is a blast. Until we get our own wild hogs, I guess this will have to do.

We,ve already got some. And we don't want them, they are a pest.  Don't get me wrong, I love going to Texas evey year to hunt them, but not as much as the landowners there love having them killed.
