h&r 7mm rem mag

Does anyone have any infomation about a h&r 7mm rem ultra mag. it is a bolt action. id like to find more information on this rifile.

It doesn't exist in a factory issued form... if it's a Handi or Ultra, it's a custom caliber and I'd be surprised if it shoots for long with full power loads without some serious damage. Loaded down to .280 Remington power levels, it would be fine.....I would think. H&R hasn't made the Handi or Ultra in any magnum rifle calibers.

The old defunct Harrington & Richardson did make some other firearms if that's what you are talking about.

The other way to look at this  is that there are some 150 and 165 grain loads that are within 150 fps or less of the 7mm Remington Mag. So we must ask what exactly is the role the 7mm Remington Magnum plays??? I would suggest that you begin to handload and you;ll find more than few 7mm Remington Magnum performace loads in non magnum cases. As well, the Hornady Light Magnum loads come to mind....

If however you are waiting for NEF to make a 7mm Remington Magnum, you will be waiting a long time..... it aint' gonna happen.

If you're refering to a H&R ultra rifle chambered in 7mm rem mag. I believe they were made by FN of Belgum for Harrington and Richardson. That's the extent of my knowlege on the matter and it may be wrong. Possibly someone else can fill in the blanks.

H&R Model 300 Ultra Bolt Action rifle

Mauser-type action.Calibers 22-250,243,270 Win,30-06,308.7mm Mag 300 Win mag....3 round magazine in magnums..5 rounds in others.22" or 24" barrel.Open rear site,ramp front site.Checkerd stock with roll over cheek peice and full pistol grip,contrasting wood forearm tip and pistol grip,rubber butt plate,swivels.Weight 7-1/4lbs.Made from 1965-1982..
Also in the Hunters Rifle with plainer stock. 1968-1976...also in model 333 the plainest model offerd and made only 1 year 1974

2 models that I wouldn't mind having...the Model 317 Ultra Wildcat..built on a Sako action...or the model 317P presentation  both made from 1968-1976

I have a older H&R Ultra Bolt action with the Mauser action in 30-06. I have had it for many. It is one beauty of a rifle, nothing cheap about it except the safety lever which I want to have replaced with a milled Mauser safety lever. It is one beauty, a real work of art!!!....<><.... :grin:
