Well not exactly but I went to a new closer place than what I normally hunt for deer and I saw 8 yes count them 8 grouse that were separtate birds in different places in a several mile area. This was on the road folks so maybe even more in the brush. I got one and missed two and the others did not give me a shot. Out of the two I missed one was so close I know I pulled up ahead of it to try to hit it with the edge of the pattern and must have shot over it. Of course the full choke tube in the gun did not help any. Still pretty thick yet a couple of weeks it will be better. Still If you told me I would see 8 separate birds today I would have called you a liar. That is a pretty good average even in good years and this is not a good year. One explanation maybe lots of farms near where I was hunting compared to where I normally hunt were there are none. I would bet the Farmers in the area take care of the predator problems laws or no laws.
