after welding trunions

after i weld in the trunions and clean up the welds,

with the welded area, "color" with the torch, like the rest of the metal?

It will be exactly the same IF the metal added is exactly the same.  Therefore expect a little difference, generally about the same.  Welding heats it up right-much hot, so there will be a variety of colors right around the weld.  When you clean it up and then reheat that should even it out.

I like the looks of the slight differences in coloration.
