scope height?
« on: October 19, 2005, 10:49:12 AM »
I know that Hunting Rifle is 1.5" from top of the receiver to the bottom of the scope tube.
Is Smallbore Rifle the same, or more?

Thanks
Bill

Mr. Imas, thank you very much.
Is there a mount that is popular amongst the Heavy Rifle class shooters? I am currently using BKL Rings and had (until recently) there riser blocks.
Which I believe had put me at 1.3 something inches.

Since nobody else has jumped in yet:

No website (that I know of) but his phone is: 360 748 3429

If you call him with specific interests, I'd expect that he could email pics of finished work.

In addition to the very fine products that Mr. Pearson makes are risers/bases  made by Wayne Merrier of Brunswick, GA.  He makes them in two different heights for Anschutz, Sako Finnfire and Kimber and they use Weaver style rings.  The rear base has a .002" offset rise to help keep your scope centered for silhouette competition.  They also have the four animals etched on the sides.  Many of the smallbore silhouette shooters in the southeast use them.

Sorry guys, no website....Very busy here as it is.

Powding...I think maybe that you meant an .020 tapered base...which equates to about 12 MOA....I actually use .018 taper in 6 inches which is roughly 11 MOA...Both will work fine.

All of my tapered base and ring assemblies are designed and built by me.  Sorry, I do not offer any type of base / bases  for Weaver style rings.  It's kinda like puttin' an elevator in an out house...It just don't seem right.....There are a lot of other guys with some sort of bench top milling machine that offer this type of service.

If you would like some digital photos of the wide array of stuff I make, you can e-mail me at mpearson@myhome.net

Thanx...marv
