Had my Britt pup out the other day she is trained to hunt birds and bunnies.  She had just done a long track but we lost the bunny in a big tree pile. I pulled her off and started working a fence row and she started sniffing around a couple fallen logs.  I thought she might be on a rabbit but when I looked between the logs I see mister skunk.  I start backing away and my pup jumps onto the log.  Now I got visions of driving my SUV home with a really stinky dog.  I tell her to come and she just keeps staring at the skunk.  Then I made the mistake of yelling come and she thinks she is in trouble and won't move.  Well with a little baby talk I convince her she isn't in trouble and she comes to me.  I decided it was time to quit bunny hunting and try to find one of the few quail left in Missouri.

yikes!   up here we have to worry about porquipines, as if the wolves and yotes werent enough.    we have pole cats here too,  but usually they stick to the farm country more than the big woods where we hunt.
