good day with the handi rifles
« on: October 31, 2005, 04:11:08 PM »
Took the afternoon for final sighting in of 30-30 handi rifle, 45-70, 270-ultra comp and my sons 44 magnum deerfield carbine....

Just made up a bunch of 30-30 handloads, used 150-grain winchester powerpoints sitting on tip of 38.0grains of H380....outperformed all four factory winchester loads......45-70 seemed to like federal 300-grain factory fodder the best....the 270 likes remington regular 130-grain factory corelokt the best and the deerfield carbine shoots any 240-grain factory ammo you feed it to about the same point of aim ......

getting dump sticker and hunting licenses tomorrow and saturday it is off to the races....!!!
