time issues

our season began here in ny on the 25, took the day off to set and about 2 o'clock the rain turned to a wet super heavy snow that took down hundreds of trees sent the creeks 3-4 feet high and shut down my dirt line-got 8" before it quit.  most of my sets were protected but the ones that were not got buried.  i was walking out of a location yesterday after having the good fortune to pick up a beautiful female fisher and was wondering what else to do to pick up some lost time as i had to fix so many things such as sets, wash outs, cut roads out ect.  i find that i struggle with time a lot; seems to be my worst enemy.  i work for a power company that frequently requires out of town trips, weekend work, o time ect. -  so i went and got a partner with the same drive as myself and we play off each other, when one is busy the other runs sets and so on for setting and handling fur.  my partner runs a year round construction business so he is almost as busy as i am.  my question is if anyone has any unique things they do to save time or make up time that would be helpful during busy times?  i do a lot already but im sure i could improve. thanks for any new ideas.  best of luck!

I take the time to plan out my day every day. may seem like a little thing  and it may not help you but if I take the time to plan it out I save hours everyday. Sort of a if you fail to plan you are planning to fail thing.

I also keep very meticulous records of everything so I can refresh myself of the activity or history of every set location, that way I am focused on it BEFORE I have stopped the truck, not after I have crossed 3 rivers and hiked 20 miles (or however far it is... 20 steps maybe) to find out I forgot the thing I needed (whatever it might be)at the truck

I make lists so I don't forget anything...........Then I forget to check my list so I always forget something :(  :(
A bad day of hunting is better than a good day at the golf course.
