Rem 700 muzzle loader question
« on: December 06, 2006, 12:23:03 PM »
A friend has a Remington 700 muzzle loader which he has converted to use shotgun primers. Now when fired ( primer only) the striker or firing pin jumps backward out of the bolt body enough to badly sting your thumb if it is in the way. I wondered if this is normal and your just suppose to keep your thumb out of the way. He has not fired a charged shot yet.  Thanks for any input. greer
