Took a nice 7 point at 50 yds. with his youth 243.  Federal 80 grain powershok bullets.  He did not take a step.

Sweetness.  Sounds like a fine kid - what age is he?

P.S.  I got my first muzzleloader deer yesterday - I'm fired up too.  It was an east-central Okla doe that weighed 82 lbs dressed.  Exactly 80 yards, laser-ranged.  275 gr powerbelt .45 cal bullet over 100 gr Triple 7.  Deer ran 45 yards before collapsing.  Double lung hit.  Jacket from bullet was under skin on far side.  Rest of bullet went on through.

:D , Congratulations to both your son and you oktx. Thats great and it sounds as if you have a great son there and he has a great father. Tell your son well done for me. I still remember my sons first deer more than I remember mine. Carry on!!....<><....
