Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15X? Anyone Using One?
« on: November 12, 2005, 06:23:35 AM »
My brother recently bought one of these scopes and mounted it on his Remington 700 VSSF II heavy bbl varmin rifle in .22-250. Its a big scope, but I have to say I was impressed with its clarity and light transmission. I was wondering what other hunters using this scope thought of it? The rainguard coating is a big plus, given the fact that I live in Newfoundland! The extra weight of the scope isn't much of an issue for me, as I'll be using it mostly from static positions, rather than carrying it. (With the rifle approaching 10lbs without a scope, carry weight becomes a moot point).

Please feel free to jump in with your opinions, thoughts and comments!

It's a great scope.  I own several Elite scopes - mostly 4200s and one 3200, and they have performed very well for me.

As for the rainguard - yes, it works and it works well.

The only drawback to the Elite scopes is that they are generally longer and heavier than average, and their eye relief is generally shorter.  However, this should not be an issue on a varmint gun in .22-250.

I highly recommend the Elite scopes.

I have the 3200 in 5x15 and love it. I don't find the eye relief short at all.
One of the reasons I bought it is because the eye relief is advertised at
4.3". I am short with short arms and wanted a scope with good eye relief.
this scope is no problem for me at all. I only target shoot and mostly at
50yds for groups. The scope is very clear and repeatable. I have only had
it a short time and have to take it to the 100 yd line. I have it mounted on
a  22. There is one thing that I don't like, In the right sunlight the reticule
appears to be a gold color. I also have a sunshade on it but it is still gold
under certain conditions. Very nice adjustments and the AO seems to be
right on. I have not noticed any change to Impact with a power change of
the scope. The Optic Zone seems to have the best prices also. I paid
$259 plus shipping.
