Have you considered 6.5x55 Swede?  Plenty of reloading info for that round. . .

Are you just looking for the flattest shooter? What bullet weight do you want to shoot? What game do you want to hunt? If you are using an Encore frame, consider 6.5-284. The 6.5 JDJ is an excellent barrel for the Contender---you get more out of the 6.5-284 in the Encore. I have both. I think the Contender 6.5 JDJ is easier to hunt in the field, but the Encore 6.5-284 is better on a bag from the bench or a stand with a shelf for a bag. pg

the cartridge i'm speaking of is based on a 270 win case blown out an has a 60 degree sholder.i talked to JD @ssk an he said he's getting 2825fps w/14" barrel an 140g sierra bullets an 2700 fps w/160's. is'nt the 6.5 your refering to based on th 225 win. case..?anyway i'm looking for a the flatest shooter in 6.5 out of a hand gun lenght barrel.i am looking at using 95-140g bullets but mostly the lighter of the bullets.coyotes, coyotes an coyotes probley sounds crazy but i like the 6.5 bullet an horse power also i'll be shooting from a rest!i was recently in a car accident an am now paraplegic i'm not as able to use a rifle but am able to handle an encore pistol  i'm new to this handgun hunting thing but i'm not gonna to giving up my coyote hunting or my reloading/target shooting. 8)
