I just came back today from sighting in my rifles for deer season the final time before opening day here in Missouri. I am new relatively new to all of this hunting stuff, and my first handi, a .243, I purchased about 3 years ago.
I have a small piece of property outside of Potosi, and built a 100 yard range on it this year. I was just moderately impressed with the accuracy of the .243. This spring I purchased a 45-70 barrel. I have been working on both of them for a few months, doing all of the handi tricks.
Today I can proclaim that I have been very successful. I have the .243 shooting 1" groups with green box 100 grain core-lockts. I have been handloading the 45-70 with a lee loader, 44gr of reloder7 and 300gr. hornady interlocks.
I confirmed today that both shoot sub-moa groups when switching the barrels randomly. Who could ask for more? And a lot of fun seeing the results in the process. :grin:

p.s. I have a Simmons pro-hunter 3.5x10AO on the .243, and a optics zone Mueller multi-shot 2x7 on the 45-70.
