Browning 270WSM/ Barnes 130TSX
« on: December 04, 2005, 02:49:32 AM »
Took my new Browning medallion to the range yesterday. was not the best conditions for shooting, 29degrees 20-30mph wind but it was sunny and I was dying to try the rifle.
First load was winchester 150 gr power points ( need the brass) they averageed just under an inch, not bad.
The next load was 130 gr barnes TSX and H4831 with sevaral rounds starting at 65 gr and finishing with 67grains. These loads averaged 3/4" with the last group well under 1/2"
I have always been a 270 fan and a bit of a velocity nut and now I have a rifle that will accurately throw a 130 gr bullet at 3100 fps withe ease, love it.
This is my fifth browning rifle that has given me this kind of performance or better.
I admit I have not much of barnes fan ( accuracy prblems with the original X bullet) but so far I like this one

The TSX bullets are surprising a lot of old barnes bullet shooters. I love them.  :D

Yes Sir, the TSX is a whole different animal compared to the old X in
accuracy.
I don't own an A-Bolt, but I have worked with a couple & they were quite
accurate.
