Luckily, my wife and I have lived remotely for over 20 years 24/7. Since no other people live in the neaby vicinity, we have had to do by ourselves for almost everything, from power supply, to water supply, to construction, to inclement weather, to clothing, to food, to pantry, to tools, to transportation, to survival mentality. The easiest one of the most elemental fundamentals for us to overcome is isolationism from others. We spend months at a time from ever seeing anyone else except each other. Most people we hire during the summer months have a problem with not talking or socializing with others when out here. We don't mind it a bit. Also, if a piece of equipment breaks down, we can generally make do for a while from a modification part or temporary repair of the old part. I just last week inspected my traps that I haven't looked at for over 15 years. Still in good shape as I hoped. Might have to use them.
