First rabbit hunt of the season
« on: November 06, 2005, 06:58:39 AM »
Myself and my hunting buddies met up early yesterday morning for opening day of rabbit season here in Maryland.  One of the guys owns two very nice beagles.  We jumped up some cotton tails and at the end of the day out of four of us we had three rabbits and one squirrel.  Yes I caught a squirrel out in the cut corn field trying to get some corn.  Shot him before he could high tail it into the woods.  I was shhoting my NEF 20 ga.

I wish I still new someone around here that hunted with beagles.I grew up hunting with beagles that belonged to a family friend. It definitely adds to the experience. I always go out Thanksgiving day and kick the brush piles and briar patches around the farm for old time sake.

Markus,
Hey man I hope you know your always welcome to come down here and hunt with me and the guys I hunt with.  I think you would fix right into our little hunting group.  Let me know if/when you can make it down here and I'll contact Shane(The guy with the beagles) and we can set up a good ole fasion rabbit hunt.  One of the things I love about rabbit hunting is you don't have to worry about all the camo stuff.  A good pair of blue jeans and a upland jacket and your set.

Thanks Dave. The same goes on my end but this year is looking to busy for me to do very much hunting right in my back yard. Next season though if I have sold my dad's house, built a new house, moved into it and sold the house I live in now, I am hunting all winter.
