Trap Door rest for Hunting?!?!?
« on: September 23, 2005, 06:03:23 AM »
I am setting up a Bowtech MightyMite soon and am curious about the Trapdoor in hunting situations.  Anybody using one of these?  I am not getting alot of feedback around here as the Whisker Biscuit has taken over in popularity.  I like the fact that there are no cables or strings on it but I have heard that drawing and letting down sometimes causes the rest to fall.  I also have heard that the fork doesn't offer much support for the arrow in terms of canting.  Supposedly the arrow falls off quite easily.  I would appreciate any and all feedback with this.  These rests are not cheap and I hate to spend that kinda money only to sell it on ebay in a month :-D

I got a bow with the original trap door rest on it and it shot great.  The only problem I had is the inner mechanism that drops the rest makes a terrible noise when shot.  I know a guy who uses it shooting in tournaments but says he likes the whisker bisquit in the woods.  I did lose about 10 fps through the chrono when I swapped to the bisquit.
