Why does'nt Marlin make a longer barreled 30-30 ?

Why doesn't  Marlin make a 30-30 rifle with a longer barrel? They make a long barreled 45-70 , but not in a 30-30. Seems like it would be a good gun to make.

They used to make the 336A with a 24" bbl, there is cowboy models in 45-70 with 26"bbl, and 38-55 and 30-30 in 24" the last two I believe are no longer in production though they can be had if you do a search. Only other option is to get one rebarreled with a longer tube. I think www.e-gunparts.com may have parts to convert to the 336A in 32 special and maybe 30-30.
Take care and have fun. Swany

Marlin is really missing the boat by not doing another run on the 336CB in 30-30. I was lucky enough to get one when they were available, and it's a favorite shooter of mine.

If they did do a run of a thousand, they'd be gone before the general public even knew about it!

Hog,

I look at that with lust in my heart!  I certainly wish I had that rifle and you had a feather up your nose - then we'd both be tickled!   :D

Not sure if you can use this for a fact but on the sports south websight they have a listing for a new 336 with a 24" barrel, also have for the .444, .45-70 and .450.  Will just have to wait and see if they turn up or not.
