The 9x23 is gonna be done-It has turned from a want into a quest.
It appears, from lack of response from Dawson, that the Trojan or STI is not gonna happen.
It appears it will take some major gunsmithing to get one that is not a double stack and I am not sure, again from the lack of resopnse, that Dawson Percision is up to that task and STI does not seem to want to do it.
I can still do the SV but the money is more than I want to spend.
Has anyone delt with Jim Clark. They are within driving distance and seems they might be willing to take on the project.
I do not know if they are familiar with the caliber and my instincts, from a lot of reading, are that this weapon has some need of experience to make it reliable. As I plan on using it for self-protection I can ill afford a weapon that is not reliable.
Any other suggestions.
No- I do not wish to attempt to do any of the tweaking or parts on my own. The extractor is one of the primary concerns.

Les Baer offers slides and barrels for the 9x23. I didn't notice any complete guns on his site advertised as a 9x23. It would make sense he may put one together for you since he offers all of the stuff.

Jim Clark at Clark Custom Guns may be an option as well.

If it were me, I'd go with the 38 Super. It's a "known quantity". Very reliable, plenty of power, excellent accuracy, and available. If it were a "fun gun" for the range, a 9x23 would be an interesting choice. For self defense, I wouldn't even consider a "non-standard" round. Maybe there is a good reason why it isn't offered by popular manufacturers. Usually when a cartridge gets good reviews for power, accuracy, and function, many manufacturers will jump on the band wagon and start making them. No so with the 9x23.

I have been looking at this about two years now and am convinced that it is the best selfdefense round on the market.
It cranks out more speed than a .357 in a 125gr bullet, shoots flatter, more accurate at 100yds, 10 rounds, and with less flash and recoil.
The history of the round goes back a number of years and should have taken the place of the .38 Super.
Take a look at Dane Burns web Burns custom, he has a whole section on this weapon. I just cannot take his wait time or his cost.
STI does offer the 9x23 but not in a single stack. They offer a .38 super and one could have it reamed but Bar sto offers the barrel and so do others. I am having a hard time understanding why they will not do a 9x23 in the weapon they offer the .38 super in.
Anywho, I am going to find one of these blasters.

I had Clark Custom Guns build me a 1911 bullseye gun. Huge mistake! It's assembled from junk parts that look like they were stored underwater-- salt water. The finish is an act of vandalism. Try somebody else. I honestly believe I could have done a better job myself using drop-in parts and the minor services of a local gunsmith. The gun does work for its intended purpose, but the quality is way way below par. It was my first bullseye 45 and my first custom work. In retrospect I should have refused it.

Thanx Questor-only need one to advise and I will heed the advice.
Someone else have a suggestion befor I fork ove 2500 dead presidents.
I cannot afford to make a mistake, considering the cost and the results.

Les Baer offered to make me a .40 in there ppc gun and its not cataloged so it may be worth asking them.

Those Colts are simply .38 super's reamed to 9x23 and do not headspace correctly. Would spend as much as the gun to get it to function reliably/safely.
I can but tons of .38 supers but then you have need of the magic of a good smith and I may have need of that.
