Ok I'm Keeping the Baikal Combo
« on: November 09, 2005, 01:06:48 PM »
After thinking about this for some time I have decided to keep the Baikal Combo.  It just keeps getting better.  The rifled choke shoots a 1 inch group at 50 yards.  The turkey choke I just ordered has taken turkey at 67 yards.  The 30-06 is consistantly in the 10 ring at 100 yards.

What more could you want from a combo?  Ok so it is not the best looking gun but it keeps going and going...

I did not exclude accepting gifts.  :-D  :-D  :-D

With the rifled and turkey screw in chokes This gun does everything I would need.  It does kick like a mule, the finish is ok (this is not a display gun) the trigger pull is not adjustable BUT the gun is like an unattractive Eveready bunny, it just keeps going and going.  I was looking at a Merkel the otherday but keep thinking this  gun is so pretty I would hate to scratch it or mess up the finish.  I can not say that about the Baikal.    :P

Drillingman I will IM you with my address so you can send me that Valmet jewel...   :-D

doug,

I looked up "your adress" on line, and i sent the package out "this morning"...  Now, why don't you run out to mail box and wait there...  I wouldn't want you to miss your mail person when they show up with your new "jewel".....
