« on: November 05, 2005, 02:36:24 PM »
Hey guys, im lookin to buy some cheap "target" ammo, I came accross silver bear 30-06, 5.49 per a box of 20 (not bad at all) they are 168 grain soft point.

Here is thier link:

I need to know if these bullets can hurt bolt action rifles (becuase they do use  metal casings, I wanna know if they are safe to shoot in remington 7600, mossberg 100 atr, and winchester 70)

thanks guys

What do you mean......not in metallic casings??????????  Are you referring to steel cases as opposed to brass?  I believe this stuff is Russian with a laquer coating and should be OK for one-time use only.

Haven't heard any info on zinc coated ammo, but the steel varnish coated ammo has a bad reputation for clogging up chambers with varnish.
If you're planning on shooting this ammo in a newer gun, I'd check with the maker of your gun, and see what they have to say.
