Foiled again!!!!!
« on: November 11, 2005, 03:49:20 PM »
Ack!!!!!! Ok so my project 58 cal flinter has been smothered   Money being like it is (seems to always go quicker then it's made) So still wanting to some big game hunting with a flinter and needing to stay under 450 for the entire rifle, I was looking at the Traditions PA Pellet and although I have had good luck with their caplocks I think I will stick with my gut feeling and go instead with the T/C Firestorm. By big game I mean buffalo, elk maybe a bear or two. So would a Firestorm with one of T/C's Maxi-Ball (370grn) be a good load for such critters? Will welcome any suggestion on rifle, load or a combination. Thanks.

Good choice, the T/C Firestorm is of high quality, and that 370 grain Maxi should knock them pretty good. I would figure on at least 100 gr. of Goex FFG, since you are hunting Elk and Moose, maybe even 110-120 grains. I would work up until accuracy falls off, and then back off just to last one that flew well. Good luck-Jack.
