Mini-14

I recently purchasede a good used Mini-14.  Is it ok to use 5.56 NATO ammo or just use .223 Remington ammo.  The reason I ask is I purchased a case of the 5.56 Winchester USA ammo along with the rifle and I don't want to damage it using the 5.56mm ammo.

I would ask Ruger and get the right answer. Having said that I had one that I shot everything in and had no damage but it wasn't that accurate either.
It is definitely a fun rifle.

Have fun and be safe.

This is a link to the owners' manual on ruger's website.  On page 10 of the manual it states you can use either .223 or 5.56 ammo.  Click on the link to read it.
