On good source Sako and Federal Cartridge are coming out with a 338 Federal.  It will toss a 210 gr bullet at 30-06 Ballistics.  Based on a expanded out 308 cartridge.   All I know.   Buckfever

It has been an obscure wildcat for quite some time. There's a section in Ken Water's "Pet Loads", that describes it as "useful". When the .308 case hit the market, in the middle 50s, wildcatters screamed for joy, and immediately necked it up and down in every combination possible, with and without sharper shoulders.
