Omega vs. Sidekick
« on: December 02, 2005, 05:29:31 PM »
I've been looking at muzzle loaders for a while now.  I have my choice narrowed down to two models...the T/C Omega stainless w/synthetic stock or the NEF Sidekick stainless w/synthetic stock.  Everyone who has the Omega seems to really like them, but everyone who has a Sidekick seems to really like them too.  I could buy two Sidekicks for the price of one Omega.

Is the Omega worth the extra money?

Thanks

Moonlitin

I have an Omega and it shoots very good with several powder and sabot/bullet combinations. I am very happy with it except it is heavy. I only hunt with it from a  stand, never still hunt with it.

A good friend shoots a Sidekick, it shoots good and he is happy with it.

In my opinion either would be a good choice.

It all comes down to personal choice. Me, I like the Omega.  It is worth it if you think it is. JMHO. :D

I never tried the Omega, not to keen on the looks, but I do own a Sidekick, and it shoots great!! Got a Doe with her in October. 40 yard neck shot. Get the Sidekick and save some dough. I love T/C`s, but I have to like the looks first :D Jack.

Who cares what they LOOK like?

They both have black plastic stocks with stainless steel barrels...but who cares what they LOOK like...I want to know how they SHOOT!!!

The T/C Omega costs twice as much as the NEF Sidekick.  Is that because it's better, or are people paying for the T/C name?

Thanks

Moonlitin

The good thing about the T/C is, it will hold its value better if you ever decide to sell it. Yea a little of the price comes from the T/C name, but no different than a Rolex from a Timex..  :-D  :-D
