45-70 BC RANGE DAY
« on: November 14, 2005, 03:54:23 PM »

I did get to the range to day with the 45-70 BC,the target at 75 yards
Load 65 grains of 2f goex and a 405 FP bullet,I have to say for the first time out the gun did work out excellent.
This was the first time I shot black out of a case ,overall had no problems .
I would say from here it all up hill  :-D
I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THANKS TO ALL THE HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO LOAD BP. :D

Quick: I was praying the bullets would come out the front of the barrel, after the first shot it was all up hill. :)
I think cleaning the gun is more work they shooting my flinters,First I have to get a longer cleaning rod, took some time to day , I had to split the rod one end from the breech, and then follow from the crown .I hate cleaning a barrel from the front end ,but had no choice.
The 405 cast bullet BHN of 8 showed no leading at all :D
