18 days till Kansass Archery season
« on: September 12, 2005, 04:55:15 AM »
I can not wait I have placed self built game camera out since I have nothing to do since last year and lot of physical excersize since last years minor heart problems. I know this sounds selfish but you know I have been looking foward to being able to this the last five years and that is hunting the whole season until I get the one of the big on my ranch.
Here are photos of the little one I have captured on the self build game camera.

this one looks a little bigger than the other but real cant tell. I know there is bigger ones there to as well but have not captured them on photo.

Good luck on your hunt. Do you hunt with selfbows and rivercane arrows?
Me and two of my buddies spent the last three days in Rice County hunting turkeys with our selfbows and longbows. The other two took nice turkeys but I did 't get a shot. I will go back in a couple of weeks.
Nice looking photos.
I usually hunt in KS every year with my selfbows but didn't draw this year and those "Excuses for politicians" changed the rules and I couldn't buy a doe tag and hunt with my bow. Maybe next year or I might be able to get my friends in KS to put in for transferable tags and I can buy one of those.

TheBowhunter, do you make the KBA Conventions? I have made the last 5 of them. Been in the KBA since 1995. I hunt a lot with KSBOW and some others in the KBA. I usually have some of my selfbows, cane arrows with/flint points and other stuff I make on display on the tables in the contests. Won the knife in the raffle at the convention this year.
Nice photos. We have made two trail cameras and both work great. I took one to KS this last weekend and had a lot of photos of turkeys, some yearlings and two coons.

I wish I could have gone to last couple but the last time I  was there Monty Browning was there.
I was busy with job, after that now since my health has declined some so I am on disability now. I plan on be being there this upcomeing one.
I have supported every state Bowhunter assoc. I lived in from Utah, Colorado, WYoming and Kansass. I wish everybody who hunt either with selfbow or compound bow would join their states Bowhunter association,  They are great group of people and help to preserve our Bowhunting sport. I hope to see you there this time will make an effort to look you up.

The KBA is a good group. I have made a lot of great friends hunting and shooting with guys from KS.
Here is the last whitetail I took with a homemade longbow. Took it up around Hayes. 7 pnt, 225lbs.
Look forward to meeting you. I'm going back to KS for another try at those turkeys and maybe some pheasant in two weeks.
