Pretty much any scope can be made to fit any rifle given the proper bases and rings. Does that make it a good choice? No. I'm not familiar with what scope you mean, 4x15 is not numbers I'm used to seeing. If that 15 means a 15mm objective then for sure I'd not use it. If the thing is a 4x to 15x variable again I'd not use it on a Marlin lever rifle.

Thanks for replying, I talked to someone else who said it was probably a bit much for that gun as well.  Obviously I'm very unfamiliar with guns and their accessories, I'm trying to find one for my brother.

A proper scope for the gun would be a fixed power of 2.5x or 4x or a low power variable that has a max power of 5, 6 or 7. There are a lot of them that fit into that range. Scopes like 1-4, 1.5-6 or 2-7 are all he needs. One of mine has a 1.5-4.5 on it, the other wears a Williams reciever peep sight.

I have a Millett 4x32 on my 1895 and it works great!
I'm using Weaver style  medium rings and the one piece base.
