Hi guys , I have a .17 MACH 4 centerfire and I am having no joy with it and since the new .17 rimfire cartridges are proving to be very accurate I wondered if I may be able to convert the MACH 4 barrel to one of the rimfire cases ...The question is are the rimfire projectiles the same diameter (.172 ) as the MACH 4 projectles .. I have a nice Remington .22 that I dont use and doing the work is not a problem ...Rob

Rob,
Are you saying that your MKIV is not giving you the accuracy you need? I've found while the accuracy of the .17 RF's are good, the .17 CF's are 3-5 times better. I'd look into accurizing the MKIV barrel before re-chambering.
The RF"S are .172".

Dunno, if you are asking me or him. I have both a 23" T/C Contender and an XP-100 chambered in .17MK IV
