Got a Turkey Today
« on: November 19, 2005, 04:47:29 PM »
With about a half hour of the Fall Turkey season left, I scored on about a 20 pound Gobbler!! I got it in Wahsington County in Game Lands MGT area 2A. He was in a bachelor group of 4 big gobblers. Used my old Mossberg 500 Camo,Full Choke, 3 inch Winchester Turkey load of 2 oz #4`s. About a 15 yeard shot, almost took his head clean off. Very impressed with this load, but it really stays tight, it must not open up until after about 20- 30 yards. My first Turkey  I really love Turkey hunting, as much as hunting Deer with my Muzzleloader :D Jack.

Congrats.  Just in time for Thanksgiving too.  My wife isn't a fan of game meat, but she still talks about the one and only turkey I shot in 1989.  Swears it beat commercial farm-bred birds hands down.
