So far, I just shoot paper with mine, but this year has turned out to make me an armchair Handi owner, for the most part, as far as hunting goes!  :(  But.....I have definate plans! My first BC has been rechambered to .45-120, shoots excellent with the Williams FP target rear sight. My second BC is scoped with a 10x40 Bushnell Elite 3200, it also shoots excellent, wanta use the mildot scope to see what kind of accuracy I can get at longer range, just for fun.

Buy it...you will NOT regret it.  It is a wonderful rifle as is the "Target Classic"
Both rifles are reasonably faithful to the Wesson and Harrington heritage.  Merry Christmas...you deserve it for being such a good boy this year.

I like using my BC for groundhog at any range.  ...well as far as I can see at least.   Walking them in on a whistlepig thats wondering whats causing the poof's of dust to get closer is a riot.   My uncle and I usually are laughing our butts off by the time we get close to hitting one at looonnng range.

Uncle uses a Browning 1885 High Wall 45-70 when we decide to use the bison guns on chucks.

I know..  sick and twisted..

Was once asked by the local Game Warden why we use such "cannon's on 5-15lb critters..  We said, "So we can get them even after they go down the hole."   He laughed, shook his head, said "Have fun" and went back to his truck.

The local Wal-Mart advertises the H&R .45-70s as 'groundhog guns'

I use mine for target shooting mostly, knocking down steel silouttes. I also use it for the occasional prarie dog or jackrabbit, but not often. I just rechambered it for 45-120 and if it shoots as good as it did when it was a 45-70 I iwll be using it on elk next year. See, it works for everything, plus it's fun and cool looking. You've been moderately good this year, go ahead and get it for yourself.

And rightly they should.. lol

You ought to see what a 300gr JHP hollowed out to about 220-240 grains does on a fat chuck.

I use mine for shooting steel at 200 yds. and live {soon to be dead} hogs. Great fun.  I reload 405 gr. Rem. bullets.
