Central Texas during the Civil War
« on: March 05, 2003, 11:21:35 AM »
There was considerable discussion in an earlier thread on John Wesley Hardin regarding conditions in Texas during and shortly following the Civil War.  This piece http://www.tamu.edu/ccbn/dewitt/billings.htm  is a little long, but describes some events few people not from this area are familiar with.  If you ever wondered what "Bushwhacker" really meant, you should read it.
Careful is a naked man climbin' a bobwire fence.
