where to order scope?
« on: March 03, 2003, 03:31:30 PM »
hi everybody:
just tried  to order a bsa riflescope from cabelas and they kindly told me they do not ship across the border to canada.
Then i tried to order one from midwayusa but on their website the only option on the ordering page for a country was united states. does  anyone know of a company that wll ship to canada with resonable prices/service?  or better yet a company that already is in canada so i won't have to wait for it to cross the border?

any help would be appreciated

travis

I just ordered thru one of this sites sponsors D&N sports.  Excellent service and good prices.  I would just call them or e-mail. See my post on this site for further details.  But could not say if they ship into Canada as I am in Michigan and they in Pennsylvania.

Try www.bearbasin.com They have a nice selection and very reasonable prices. Shipping is free with orders over $250.

I've delt with SWFA and Bear Basin. I'd rather deal with SWFA. IMHO they seem more customer oriented . Since they meet or beat price I know they're my first choice. If Bear Basin has to meet a price they charge shipping too. Bear Basin charges a small processing fee. I won't say I wouldn't deal with Bear Basin again. They're ok too.

I have three different companies who all sell optics at excellent prices. It would be unfair of me to take all of their money and then tell you to buy from one over the others and I won't. I will say I do not believe Bear Basin is likely to beat the price of all three on any given scope or other optic as all three of these companies have good low prices.

If you support the folks who support this site and LET THEM KNOW you are supporting them because they support this site they will continue to do so. That means this site will continue to exist free for your use. If all of my advertisers went away from lack of support of them then you can bet this site too would go away. It is VERY expensive and time consuming to run and only with the income from advertisers can I afford to offer it to you for your free use to share information.

Nope you aren't bound to buy from the advertisers here but it would sure make them and me happy if you do and tell them of that fact.

I know that a sponsor can not get everyone to buy from their company, but I hope that our pricing and service says it all.  I would also like to say thanks to all the people that have supported us already.  I am a sponsor on several boards and by far this one has the greatest people on it.

Keep up the good work!

So far I have bought from SWFA and dnrsports.  I will try and "spread the wealth" by buying from theopticzone next.

I must say this, however, sometimes not all of our sponsors sell all of the models that you may want.  For example, I was looking for a Nightforce NXT 5.5x-22x-56mm.  At the time, theopticzone was not a sponsor, and dnrsports didn't sell any.  bearbasin had them but was selling them close to list.

Then one day I say the SWFA banner on this site.  I called SWFA, and they sold me the scope for about $150 under list.  (For those of you who don't know, Nightforce scopes are excellent, but they have a very arrogant pricing system where the manufacturer (Lightforce USA) almost mandates that their dealer sell their products AT MSRP!

I got the scope from SWFA and it was perfect.

Now, as for bearbasin.  They may have very low every day prices on many of their optics, but they have two problems.  One, like GB said, they don't like to price match too much.  Of course I haven't purchased a scope from them recently, so maybe their policy has changed.

However, my absolute BIGGEST GRIPE with bearbasin is that, in my experience and option, they are arrogant.  I don't like their attitude and haven't purchase from them in over a year.

theopticzone, dnrpsorts, and SWFA have great products and excellent service.  And they are sponsors.  The only way that we can truly thank them, in addition to calling them and telling them, is to buy from them.  If we don't buy from them, and if we don't tell them that we bought from them through this site, then they probably won't continue to support this site.  These 3 big optic dealers have great prices and great service, and they are our sponsors.  It'S A WIN - WIN SITUATION!

I need to buy two more scopes in the near future.  I'm not quite sure which ones I and going to buy, but all of you can rest assured that it will be from one of the big three!  :D
