Well the 445 dropped its first deer 15 min.into Okla.deer season . It was a 100 yd. shot and he dropped on the spot with a spine shot. He was quartering away just a little and the 265 gr.bullet made a nice 1" exit hole.
He'll probably weigh 100 pds. fielddressed and 8 points on his head. If he had been more carefull with his eyegaurds he would have been 9 points.
Gotta go fielddress him now and check him in. Digger

Well he weighed 104 and now the rest of the story. It seems this same deer had walked out in front of Lik2hunt about 10 minutes earlier and stopped behind a oak limb.With lightning like thinking Lik2hunt knew he would have to make a precsione shot to remove the limb that was in the way of a deadcenter heart shot. :roll: :roll: Well the limb did'nt fall and a
armidillo or something spooked the deer over to me,and I shot it. :-D :-D Lik2hunt is really upset over the armadillo spooking his deer off before he could finish shooting the limb off,and then shoot the deer. I guess he's still over there trying to kill the armidillo. :roll: :roll: Digger

I'm still waiting for my bragging time here at GBO this year but it will happen, possibly today.............Digger's staying home today. :-D
I've got quite a story to tell already but I'll give it a while longer before I spill the beans. Suffice to say that the kind of luck that he wrote about me having earlier is still holding out for me. :oops:

good to hear of your excellent use of that 'supermag'. i hope it's good eating!

just think of all that went into that hunt. picking a starting caliber and rifle, re-chambering, sighting-in, scouting for deer(?), and so on. that's the kind of big picture that makes for lasting memories.

i hope you have many more.
