What Handi caliber/chambering have you used to take a deer with this year? Post your shotgun and musket kills too.

So far I've shot one with my 38-55 and one with my 357 Max. As posts go, it sounds like the 357 Max has taken more deer so far than any other.

Of course NEF slug guns count. What is interesting is going through the thread and seeing how many deer have been taken with NEF's. Hellacatcher thinks the 357 Max has taken the most this year, 5 so far, but I'd bet that 20 or 12 guage slug guns would carry the day.

Hello from Georgia,
I broke in my new 308 Handi on a really nice 8 point. I have also taken a button buck and 3 does with it.

1. 8 point: one shot kill at 70 yards.

2. Doe: one shot kill at 80 yards.
3. Button buck: one shot kill at 115 yards. (same hunt as #2)

4. Doe: one shot kill at 125 yards.

5. Doe: one shot kill at 155 yards.

All the above were taken with a 308 Ultra with a Mueller Tactical scope loaded with 165 Hornady SST Handloads.

I have also taken two deer with other rifles.

6. Doe: one shot kill at 173 yards.Remington 742 in .308

7. Button buck: one shot kill 265 yards. Ruger M-77 in 7mm Rem Mag.

Not done yet as I Still have room in my H U G E freezer.

Good Luck To All !!
