S&W 500 sighted in for hunting.
« on: November 27, 2005, 09:09:58 AM »
I took my S&W 500 to the range to sight in for deer hunting. I sighted in at 100 yds but it is good for 200 yds. At 200 yds it drops about 8" so I would have to hold over about 2" on a deer. :D

Good deal!  I sighted mine in a little while back and haven't had the chance to take it to the woods.  I'm definitely taking the 500 to the woods this week.  Shots for me don't go over 50 yds so it should be an easy shot if I can just get the deer to cooperate!! Are you using factory or roll your own?  I'm using a loading of 41 grs of Lil'Gun, Hornady
350gr HPXTP bullets, and starline brass.
Flinching Due to Heavy Recoil, is only a state of Mind!!

I will be using my S&W 460 Mag this year for deer.  :D  My 500 Mag already scored on a bear this year, so now the 460 is up.  :D

Redhawk1,
I didn't get out but once so far and didn't see anything. Next month I'll be going to the drawing for Ted Harvy area. Maybe I can get an antlerless deer. :D
