I don't understand why the thread on Carlin was locked. Blckhwk stated his beliefs, I stated mine, and told why. There were no insults or name calling, and none inferred. Just honest communication. I don't understand?

Remember what the subject of the thread is? George Carlin. Carlin is a vile and disgusting excuse for a human. I should have just dumped the thread early on but I didn't.

Then it turned from the subject to a discussion where folks began preaching. While that in and of itself is fine and I approve that's not the correct forum for it and was WAY off topic. He had his say and I held off long enough to give you the last word. As soon as I saw you had I locked it.

If you want the discussion to continue please start another post and have at it. Feel free to copy and paste in the appropriate parts from that thread as a starter for it. But that thread had long since served it's usefulness under the subject and needed to end. The discussion you were having should have been taken to another forum or at least another thread.

Locking had nothing to do with the way the discussion was being conducted as it was still being done on a friendly basis altho I'm quite sure he had no interest in hearing what you were telling him. It was merely the wrong venue for it. Take it up in the correct venue and have at it.

I think the boss is right. I am not saying that to cozy up to the ol cuss, well, sometimes I think he is wrong. Is this a bad time to ask for a raise boss???
Topic should have been at another location and it is my fault it ever got out of hand. I should have, well, things can't be undone.
Maybe we can all meet again down in the proper forums. There is much to be said, IF he is really searching and I do not think so, at this point.

Not to worry fellas. It did do off in a direction not really pertainant to the original post. No need to discuss it at further length. Everyone has their own feelings, and faiths and as individuals choose the ways in which we relate to these. Some are more deeply involved than others. Nothing wrong with that. Just as there is no wrong way to worship Christ. It's an individual's choosing.

I wanted it to die as much as anything for what it was before it went off topic. When it did it just gave me good enough excuse to close it out. I find no socially redeeming qualities in Carlin and for sure see no humor in what he says and does.

The onlt time I have heard Carlin is on Jay Leno..... I suppose thats a cleaner version eh? :-)

Then you can add 95% of the comedians today and half of the old timers from years past to the list. As nasty as they may be folks still go to listen to them and laugh at their humor even though it is considered Blue ( A oldie not PC term)

Not saying its right just stating what it is. Even Network TV is not as it used to be.

I have nothing against the language he uses, I just despise his philosophy. He is sterotypical of the rest of the left wingers telling us what all we are doing wrong, but I dont see him handing out any of his millions for the betterment of minority groups or the less fortunate...
