Single-aught buckshot in a .32?
« on: November 29, 2005, 06:40:49 AM »
A gun club I frequent is having a close-out. They have some bulk boxes of Hornady 0 buckshot, which the package says is .320".

First question, anyone know how consistent I could expect the size to be?

Second question, would .320" be oversize for an 1849? I have one, but haven't fired it yet. I just wondered on the size because of the actual swaged ball being offerred in the .310" and .315" dimensions, but not in .320".

Just finding that size is amazing...  Yes, it fits, I used it some 45 years ago.  Sometimes, shot is harder than pure lead, so it might be best to test it before you bend your loading lever, but .320 should be fine.
