ejector diagram??
« on: November 24, 2005, 07:25:41 AM »
are there instructions for dissassembly of the ejector?

It looks like it is spring loaded and ready for parts to be shot into all corners of my room if I dont do it correctly.

Here's one...

Be aware that there are 2 different versions of the ejector, some have a spring and button on the back end of the ejector claw that allows the ejector to drop down when the action is opened.

Here's a link to a file that's a combo of a disassembly pdf I did a while back (before the spring-tension button coming on some current rifles was added) and Swede Nelson's ejector to extractor conversion drawings...

thanks guys

these data worked great, It was a cinch to remove the parts.

Hopefully the reassembly will go as smoothly.  It doent look to tricky.

One question,

how does the simple trimming convert this mechanism into an extractor?  Im not doing it, but the changes dont jump out to me yet.  I have not played with the parts to see how the move relative to each other however.

What you have with the ejector parts is kinda sorta like a trigger assembly, and removing the metal on that part of the ejector is sorta like removing metal from the sear engagement parts of a trigger assy. That way it can't engage, or cock. The ejector becomes an extractor which moves freely rather than an ejector which snaps to the rear when the rifle is opened, for lack of a better word. :D
