glad I took my .44
« on: December 01, 2005, 04:25:46 PM »
I had been looking for a scope mount for my Taurus M44 for about 6 months now with now luck (Untill Monday) I decided to take the revolver with be deer hunting anyhow. Boy am I glad that I did. at about 10:45 opening day here in PA, I turned to see what I thought were 2 Doe to the hill on the left side of my Ladder stand, and about 50 yards. I decided to take the shot with the Revolver using 240 gr. XTP's in front of 2400 powder. (I took it to the range the day beforea chrony'd 'em at just under 1400 FPS. ) instead of the 30-06 that I usually use. To my suprise, not only did I drop the Doe, but also the button Buck behind Her. Both rolled down the hill into the creek about 60 yards from my back porch. I did use the 06 to finish off the Button, but that was just so He wouldn't suffer (I hit a lung, but He was struggling to get up) I took the whole week off, so I guess i'll go back out tomorrow. still have two Doe tags, and half of my freezer to fill.  :P [/img]

As long as you had tags for both deer all I can say is "good shot".  Congratulations.
