Mine's shooting about 1 1/4 groups now since I put in on another reciever with a Survivor stock. The load is 31.5 grs. of 296 with a 265 gr. Hornady that clocks 2146 fps. I've only shot 1 deer and 2 hogs with it but it gets carried alot now. The Survivor stock tames what little recoil it had and it's alot of fun to shoot now. I think I'll get some more 240gr. Rem.softpoints and load them out to the land's and see how they shoot. Should be able to get 2200 fps. from them easy.Has anyone tried seating there bullets out of the crimping groove? Maybe just put a light crimp on them.  Digger

i shot some of those 270gr Speer Gold Dot flat soft points out of mine with very good results with the w296 powder.i even went up to the 300gr bullets and shot some of those but the recoil gets alittle heavy.you got to remember im shooting a tender rather than a handi rifle.i think the 270s are a winner though.

snowing and very cold here in Michigan now so range time is aways off for me now.

Mine performed well for deer season.  Got carried for Elk seasona s well, but never got the chance to try it on Elk     With 444 marlin ballistics, it should do well.  Maybe next year.

I have some 270gr. Hornady's loaded with 30.5gr. of 296 that I want to try, however it been snowing and below zero here for the past few weeks ... no range time
