Santa brought me a new Shooting Bag and a book, Handgun Hunting: How to Travel the World in Pursuit of Wild Game! by: Mark Hampton

So far it is a good book (first few chapters), mostly Revolver and Single Shot, touches on different types of guns and calibers....

Happy New Year ! !  :D

Sounds interesting. Does it recomend different handguns? What is the biggest game you can shoot with a handgun in that book? :D

I think it's a great book. I had my copy signed by Hampton and got to hunt on his place, Show Me Safaris, before he sold it.

I have a few other handgun hunting books; I think a total of 4.  I found one that I've been looking for a while called Successful Handgun Hunting.  ItÂ’s a good book with lots of information.
The only thing you should feel when shooting insurgents is recoil.

jro45,

It has chapters from small game to Africa.  He has taken Elephant, Rhino and Cape Buffalo with the .375 JDJ.  I think he shot Lion with a .44 Mag.  Anyway, .17 for squirrels to .375 JDJ for Elephant just about covers it all.  I have an older book, Handgun Hunting by: Larry Kelly and J D Jones.  It is good also but this one in a little more up to date.  Saw a deer hunting TV show over the weekend "Smith and Wesson" where a guy shot deer with a scoped S&W 500.  Good to see someone using a revolver but wish they had better footage and more info on the handgun.

I see rickyp has a copy to trade, its a good read.

That's the one.  Took me a while to find it.
I also may have finally found a copy of the video Short Barreled Bucks.   Another video for the handgun hunting library
