What's your airgun experience level?

Those are notorious in being difficult to cock, as all that power comes from a heavy spring.

In addition, that same characteristic can trash even an airgun-rated scope in quick time.

That said, it's POWER that's the draw for that model gun. And, it is a quality-made Webley product. 8)

NOLA,

The Webley Patriot(Beeman also imports it and calls it the Kodiak) is one of, if not the most powerful "springer" rifle made today.  I wish when I had bought my Kodiak I had opted for the Webley Patriot just so I could have saved the difference in price.  An accurate, powerful air rifle that will leave you with arms like Popeye if you try to shoot it too many times without resting.  The Patriot in the larger calibers will cleanly take Jack Rabbits out to 75 plus yards if you are up to the task.  Sending one off for a tune-up will soften the cocking effort so it’s down to say 45 lbs. and having it converted to a gas ram system will give you a low cost Theoben Eliminator(formally known as the Beeman Crow Magnum).  Of course the cocking effort increases(to around 60 lbs.) but the gas ram system doesn’t take a set like a springer can.  Lawdog

mine is .25 cal, and has more than enough power for any small game. It has a Maccari Monolith kit in it, and shoots 21 gr Dianas at 820+ fps. Its quite accurate, even through the open sights, and can reach way out there to 70+ yards and still have plenty of hitting power left. The only real serious problem I've heard of is actually a relatively minor problem if caught beforehand. The stock screws that are installed by the factory are notoriously weak, and the recoil of the Patriot can and will break them off. This can be avoided by simply replacing them with harder screws before they break. Other than that, if you don't mind the high cocking effort the Webley is a very competent hunting rifle. However, don't expect to spend an afternoon plinking with it.
