side by side shotguns

I am looking for a good cheap short barrel side by side just for fun.  I have been looking at the stoeger coach guns, and also the spartans gun works ones, any other suggestions?  When I say cheap I mean inexpensice, but not crap.  I want something that can stand up to being the 4x4 of 12 gauges.

I have a Stoeger 20 ga. Uplander and it's a nice gun for the price. Nothing fancy and a little tough to open when new but a solid buy for the money. Can't say how it's gonna hold up long term under tough conditions as I've not put more than a couple boxes thru it at most.

I really like the CZ imported Huglu guns. Much nicer than the Stoeger but at over double the price.

One of the older Savage/Steven/Fox guns like the 311 or whatever the cheap model was called back then sounds like what you're really looking for. Not sure what is currently made that quite compares.

The old 311 is a great utility gun. These things last forever, there are many used ones out there. I had a gunsmith reduce my 20 gauge to an 18 inch barrel about 30 years ago. Still have it, still hunt grouse with it early in the season. Even throws slugs good, the barrels cross at about 40-50 yards.
