I'd call T/C and see what they have to say about it. They'll probrably replace them for you.

My gun came with a synthetic stock set. I really hated it too, but thats all they offered with stainless at the time. I went out and replaced them with a Boyds laminated stock set. Can't be happier. The only thing that would make me a happier is if I could have bought mine for the price the are selling the for now.

I am shooting a 416 Rigby in my Encore, but I use the Walnut stock. I have not seen ant damage to the forend. Call T/C and see what they will do for you.

one of the downfalls of a plastic stock on a heavy recoiler. Nothing you can do........replace it with wood is the only alternative as it will continue if using the rynite.

The wood option is what I will pursue. I had forgotten about EA Brown as a source; thanks str8shooter...I'll call them in the morning.

Does anyone know a source for the Limb Saver for wood stocks? I see they are being manufactured now (item #10030).

I will also call T/C...they have always treated me fair in the past.

Afternoon Encore3006,

I went out to shoot my Encore .375 H&H Sunday and when I took it apart for cleaning, a piece of plastic fell from the forend.  I had read your message on an earlier date, so I kinda figured where it came from.  Just as in your photograph, the front screw housing was not only cracked, but had completely broken the back half off.  I super glued it back in place, but I don't expect it to hold.

Contacted T/C Warranty Repair today and they said to send it in for a replacement.  My question:  Will it just happen again?  They said the matter would be looked into; that they had never heard of that problem before.  I told them to check out this site.

Kinda like you though, think I'll go for the wood.  Just wanted to let you know your not out there alone. LOL

Evening Encore3006,
I had originally purchased my composite rifle forend from Midsouth Shooters Supply about three weeks ago.  When I contacted them yesterday, they told me to contact T/C.  Well, I did and T/C said to ship it to them...to the Warranty Repair Dept.  I sent it off today and then received an email this afternoon from Midsouth.  The tech told me to send it back and they would replace it with the forend of my choice...wood or composite.  So, I wrote them back and explain to them what I just told you.
So now, I'm waiting on a reply from them.  If T/C sends me a composite, I'm just going to send it to Midsouth and get a wooden one.  Then I'll sell the composite buttstock (hate to do that since installed the limbsaver and recoil reducer already) and get a wooden one to match the forend.
By the way, I asked the tech at T/C if any other problems of a similar nature had been reported.  Their answer, "No, first we've heard about it." Hmmmmmmmm..........
