Looks like Ruger is gonna build my ultimate gun (just wish it didn't have the scope mount provisions on the barrel). check it out here:

ruger to continue to make the hunter model pistols,  much less expand the hunter line.   makes me panic a bit less about getting my hunter asap.  i take it as a sign that the hunter might be in production awhile (i hope)

What's the Model Number and when will they be available? Will it be a standard catalog item? Thanks - J.Solo

On second thought a gloss finish for hunting will do me no good. I would hope the new style gun will be available in brushed Stainless. - J.Solo

:D Now you're talking, us Michiganders must think alike. That would be the ultimate for me also. I'm very partial to 5.5" barrels and the .41 mag.

I've already downloaded, printed and laminated a picture. It is pinned to the wall above my reloading bench with a coffee can underneath it for my extra money. I have to keep focused on the goal and keep stuffing money into the can. I should be there in a couple of months. I just hope it's available in brushed stainless. - J.Solo

:)    sounds like a great way to save.   I am told the finish on the gun in the above picture is a brushed finish just like the current Super Blackhawk Hunter model. It just looks like a higher polish job because of the poor flash quality of the camera used.
