Anyone using a 700 titanium action?

I posted a question earlier about custom actions and weight, and someone suggested using the 700 titanium.  I called a couple of the barrel companies to ask their opinion, and they recommended against the titanium remingtnon.  Why?  It flexes.  Poor rigidity means poor accuracy.   Anyone agree/disagree?  Anyone shooting silhouette with this action without problems?

The Young's Modulus, which is a measure of a material's stiffness, for Ti is about half that of steel.  So "Yes, Ti is not as stiff as steel."  

However, you also have to ask "What is stiff enough?"

I can't answer that, but I do know several people who have built rifles on Remington Ti actions.

They have very accurate guns and are very happy with them.

I shoot a P.G.W. TI action, no problem so far.
just remeber to grease the action lugs.

Gents,

X54 and I had Rem Ti action based HP Hunter rifles built by Mark Pharr about 4 years ago.  We have had no problems with the actions and are perfectly satisfied with them.  Kahuna's advise is sage, take extra care to keep the lugs well lubed as well as the primary extractor on the bolt handle.

The Rem Ti short action allows for a 5 1/2 contour, 26" long barrel to be used with a Nesika or Pharr stock and still be able to counter-balance the rifle with about 8 oz of lead just in front of the recoil pad.  That balance makes for an excellent off-hand hold.  Or even better, put an 8 oz mercury recoil suppressor in the butt stock.

Heck no. Ti's are out of my league. I'm the low budget guy who used a cheapo ADL action. Thanks to the generosity of yourself and Gary M. I was able to ditch that annoying J-lock bolt shroud assembly.
