O ring question
« on: December 08, 2005, 07:34:26 AM »
Does adding the O ring change the zero on the rifle?  I sighted in my rifle with out the O ring, but have added one recently.

Since the "O" ring is on the bottom of the barrel, I don't see any reason the scope zero would change.

Point of impact may well have been affected by a change in barrel harmonics since the O-ring affects the fit of the forend, I wouldn't count on it hitting the same, I would definately shoot paper before hunting with it.

Zero changed every time in my Handi's after I placed an O-Ring. Usually for me, any where from 2-5 inches. So like Tim said I would definately go try it out before you hunt with it. Or just leave it the way it was, if you where getting satisfactory accuracy with it for your hunting.
My only caliber that didn't really care was the 44Mag. It didn't seem to care one way or the other...fitting :)
