I just put on my new FP-336 rear sight on my 1895GS today. Can someone please tell me what is the Angular Locking Bushing Screw for? The instructions aren't very clear.

Also, how tight do you tighten the Elevation and Windage Locking Screws? It says not to over tighten them, but as tight as I get it, I can still turn the elevation and adjustment screws, although they are much harder to turn. Is this normal or should they not be able to turn at all? One of the corners of the elevation locking screw has already chipped off, I wonder if Williams will send me a new one.

It might sound like I'm complaining, I'm not. I can't wait to get it to the range and see how it works.

The FP Williams is a great sight. You'll be glad you have it.

I have the FP on my Marlin 39A. Same sight, different firearm.

I'm not sure what you are refering to by the "angular locking screw". Explain further.

The elevation and windage locking screws don't need to be tightened very hard......just enough to keep the adjustment settings. If you are chipping the slot on the screw, you are over tightening.

Williams will probably replace the screw.....ask them.

this is what the instructions refer to as the Angular Locking Bushing Screw, and it really doesn't say what it does.
man, i love those 39As!  i'm gonna have me one someday, but theres other must have guns at the top of the list.

The angular washer locks the vertical slide from moving up and down when the screw is tightened.

ok thanks. so does that mean you have to loosen it also when you adjust the elevation?

Yes, that's correct, txpilot......

Only takes a moment, and click adjustments are precise and repeatable. I also have the 5d Williams on a Winchester 94. It serves the purpose, but I wouldn't buy a 5d again. The FP model is well worth the extra initial investment......and sooooo much better!

this is a pic of my fp i have  target angular locking screw on the fp now if williams only did the windage and elevation locking screws a bit longer with a little nob on the end to tightened  them up it would be an even better sight no need for a screw driver.
